He Was My Rock

I know it isn't Father's Day yet, but my Dad's birthday is on the 18th April so I thought I'd post this song in his honor. I am by no means a good song writer and I haven't put music it to it, but it came to me so I wrote it down. If anyone can put music to it I'd love to hear it. :)

He Was My Rock

He was always there to hold me when I cried

He was always there to tuck me in at night, 

He was always the strongest one in my life

He was my rock and I pushed him aside,

He never judged me for decisions that I made

I still remember all he taught me and the lessons that I learned

I just wish I would have noticed, he was my rock, 

And now that I'm grown up, and he's not always near

I miss his smiling eyes and good advice

and I wish that I had realized,
